THIS. This is a rarity. If you've never heard of Ted Healy he was the guy who brought the Three Stooges together back in the day for MGM. So much so they were actually called "Ted Healy and HIS Stooges". This is one of their early shorts where Healy was the boss. You'll notice that even the leader of the Stooges Moe is treated just as brutally (slapped around etc) as the rest by Healy. Ted was clearly the boss.
After a short period The Three Stooges broke away from Healy and went with Columbia to become the Three Stooges we know today. Healy tried to stay reverent with a new group of "stooges" for his act however they met with moderate success at best. Shortly after Larry, Moe and Curly left to break out on their own Healy was murdered in a bar fight.
