For anyone outside Canada being a recipient of an award from The Governor General, The Queen's official rep in Canada, is one of the highest awards that Canada gives.
All of this years recipients will be presented today in Canada's capital city Ottawa during a sitting of Parliament.

The gala will be held at The Governor General's Performing Arts Gala at the National Arts Centre on May 3 in Ottawa
