Google Video: Christopher Guest, Harry Shearer, & Richard Belzer are the voices in this irreverent animated short about show-biz as usual.

Eric Bogosian does Harmonius

Direct from the Bowery Poetry Club comes this monologue from Eric Bogosian (Pounding nails into the floor with my forehead, Oliver Stone's Talk Radio and Law and Order: CI) parodying Deepak Chopra.

Also consider ordering "Pounding Nails in the Floor with My Forehead". If you're balking because it sounds too artsy check out this Amazon review: "Often the words performance art is enough to scare a person, but this CD is excellent. Bogosian's observations and wit are as sharp as ever".

The actual disc is OOP however Amazon has it for sale used and it's less than a fin. I have this disc and strongly recommend it for those who enjoy performance art or stand up comedy.

A festival of Charlie Chaplin

Google: Four Chaplin shorts from 1917: The Adventurer, The Cure, Easy Street and The Immigrant, presented with music and sound effects.

'The ... all » Adventurer' - Chaplin is on the run from the prison officials. Escaping into the sea he comes to the aid of a drowning trio. Taken back to their family home he is treated like a hero. Until he is recognized for the criminal that he is.

'The Cure' - Chaplin plays a recovering alcoholic, who is taken to a 'drying out' clinic. Smuggling in his own trunk of supplies, he soon gets caught out by the hospital staff. The contents of the trunk are thrown into a nearby drinking water fountain. Chaos breaks out as everyone, including Chaplin, gets drunk.

'Easy Street' - A man down on his luck. Chaplin plays a tramp who is taken in by a local mission. A reformed man he signs up to become a police officer. Only to walk into the bad end of town and come across a hardened thug.

'The Immigrant' - Chaplin plays an immigrant who falls for a fellow passenger, whom he passes on his gambling winnings to when she and her mother are robbed. They part ways only to meet months later, in a cafe. Broke and unable to pay for their meal, Chaplin uses his cunning to get through the situation.

FYI: Bill Cosby is not dead!

Here's a little bizarrity I stumbled across on Google Video. It's a video memorial for Bill Cosby posted on January 15th.

The problem is Bill Cosby isn't dead. He isn't even sick.

According to MyFox 29 in Philadelphia Cosby was at a peace march put on by "Men united for a better Philadelphia" on the day the video was posted.

Plus even if they were wrong (Fox was about Iraq so it could happen) and Cosby did die then he must have risen from the dead a few days later to raise 2.5 million in scholarships at Wesleyan University by doing benifit concert at the Pierre Hotel in New York City according to Wesleyan's own newsletter. Jesus Christ!

So like the Al Gore TV network that replaced Newsworld International I'm not really sure why this was created but you can check out "RIP Bill Cosby" below:

A bevy of Ken Nordine's Colors

Plus click here to listen to Susan Stamberg and Robert Siegel muse on if The Office of Homeland Security should hire Nordine for their color security system from NPR.org

Click here to pick up Colors on CD over Amazon.com featuring a total of 34 tracks about colors

Amazon.com:
The voice-over man from a thousand commercials, Ken Nordine registers in your subconscious instantly: Wait, I know that guy! Smooth as an ice sculpture and ringing with "the voice of our sponsor," Nordine has personified authority since the 1960s. It's disorienting at first to hear the way Nordine lets go on this record with a Beat-inspired, mellifluous-sounding, Dr. Seuss-like exploration of the meanings of different colors. Many of the pieces are parables on racism and human behavior, but they're also totally silly, and meant to be. Recorded in the late 1960s, the 34 tracks manage to be sort of psychedelically goofy but charming at the same time. "Absolute gray is the grayest gray / That's the same distance from absolute white as it is from absolute black," Nordine almost-sings to a delightful, freeform studio backing of hip jazz. All your mix tapes will be very happy that you've bought this strange record to flavor them with. --Mike McGonigal

"Archive of American Television Interviews Harvey Korman & Tim Conway Part 3 of 3"

Comedians Harvey Korman and Tim Conway spoke in great detail about their years on The Carol Burnett Show, including descriptions of famous characters and sketches. They also talked about their work in recent years touring the country with their two-man stage show. Korman talked about headlining several short-lived series and his thoughts on being better suited as a second banana. Additionally he spoke about his work as a voice actor, playing The Great Gazoo on The Flintstones, and his feature film collaborations with Mel Brooks and Blake Edwards.

If you're a Tim Conway fan wearing out your "Dorf on Golf" VHS tape and pining to snag something more eclectic you may want to hit up your local used record store to look for the Tim Conway and Ernie Anderson classic "Are We On":

My copy ran less than $5 so even for the casual comedy listener it's not going to break the bank.

Psst...Naked Gord Trivia: Director Paul Thomas Anderson is the son of Ernie Anderson and dedicated his film "Boogie Nights" to Ernie (as did Drew Carey in an episode of his show)

Archive.org: This was the first comedy that Laurel and Hardy starred in without producer Hal Roach, although they had previously been "guest stars" in four MGM movies.
After they finished making "The Flying Deuces," they returned to Hal Roach Studios to make films.

In order to make this movie, producer Boris Morros bought the rights to the 1931 French film "Les deux legionnaires," which had a similar plot. "The Flying Deuces" was Morros' first independent production and it was shot in continuity over a span of four weeks.
Only one day was reportedly needed for retakes.
The French original starred Fernandel and Noel Noel.

SYNOPSIS:
Ollie is in love with a woman. When he find out that she is already married, he tries to kill himself. Of course, the suicide is prevented and the boys join the Foreign Legion to get away from their troubles. Eventually, they are arrested for trying to desert the Legion and escape the firing squad by stealing a plane.
