Influenced George Carlin: The Ritz Brothers: Hotel Anchovy: Watch Online

This is the first Ritz Brothers film from 1934 which prompted the films distributor Twentieth Century-Fox to sign the team to a contract which would turn into a career that lasted until their swan song comeback in 1975 with "Blazing Stewardesses".

As mentioned the team influenced the late great George Carlin however don't expect cutting edge political and social comedy (remember Carlin was also influenced by the song and dance comic Danny Kaye) - it's more a glimpse into the classic days of vaudeville and you can watch it in streaming video below direct from Youtube.

World's oldest joke discovered...yes it's a fart joke plus George Carlin on farting

Well I guess it shouldn't be that much of a surprise that that world's oldest joe turned out to be a joke about flatulence but the big surprise is that the joke came from an old Sumerian proverb dating back to 1000BC in what is now southern Iraq.

So you're wondeirng what the joke is? well here it is:

"Something which has never occurred since time immemorial; a young woman did not fart in her husband's lap,"

and check out some of the wonderful fart jokes the late, great, George Carlin left us below:

Linguist looks back at legacy of George Carlin

and click here to read the prof's full essay direct from Berkley University

NPR.org: Linguist Geoff Nunberg reflects on the life and language of the late comedian George Carlin, who died last month.

In the 1970s, Carlin observed: "There are 400,000 words in the English language, and there are seven of them you can't say on television. What a ratio that is: 399,993 to seven. They must really be bad."

Then, famously, he proceeded to say them.

George Carlin hosting an interview chat segment

Well I've never seen this before. George Carlin actually in the host's chair interviewing someone. I really couldn't care less about Stephanie Kramer (most known for being Fred Dryer's sidekick on Hunter) however it's neat to see Carlin actually doing the interviewing. Runs approx 7 minutes

newsboyarizona @ Youtube: This looks like it's from the original Late Show from the early days of Fox back in 1986-87. This is probably after Joan Rivers left the show, and they used guest hosts for a few months into mid-1987 before settling on an unknown comic, Arsenio Hall. Then they took it off and replaced it with the Wilton North Report which was cancelled within one month.

Retro George Carlin on Mike Douglas

Youtube: February 18, 1972 - The Mike Douglas Show
For a week in 1972, John Lennon & Yoko Ono took over the Mike Douglas Show as hosts. George's appearance was on the last of the 5 days. When asked about it, George said he didn't even recall being on the show that week. "Too many good drugs back then." This bit includes "New York Voices, The Hair Piece, and Sharing A Swallow"

George Carlin on Larry King circa 2001

From meesterm0le's Youtube channel (click it for a bevy more shorter gems from Carlin) comes this episode of George Carlin with Larry King for the hour in this pre-9/11 2001 interview.

George Carlin on Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher

Up first? A nice reminder how the Bush administration doesn't give a crap about the enviroment as shown by who they appointed to positions of power after they stole the election from Gore in this pre 9/11 ep of PI.

Youtube: Discussion on the Government and energy policy, religion energy again

I have to say it is just hilarious how George Carl;n picks on the little republican, Horace Cooper, poor guy.
